In this tutorial, I'm going to demonstrate how easily you can create your own online course, from scratch, using the CourseReel AI app available from WickedApps.com.
- To get started creating your course, click the Create New Course button.
- Enter a project name for the course and click Next.
- In this step we will choose a title for the course.
If you already have the perfect title in mind, enter it in the text field and click Save, then continue to step 4.
To generate AI suggested titles, enter topic keywords and click on AI Recommendation.
A list of recommendations will be listed, as shown in the example below with the keywords "Microsoft Word." When you find the perfect course topic, click the Use This button next to the topic to copy it into the title field,
Then click Save to continue - Chapters need to be added to build your course. The AI will automatically load a number of chapter suggestions based on your topic. You can add suggested chapters by clicking the Add This button
- You can also manually add your own chapters by clicking on the add tab / plus icon: Conversely, use the Trash bin icon to delete a chapter.
- When you are done adding and editing your course chapters, click Save to continue to the next step.
- Each of your chapters will be listed in the drop down menu at the top of the screen, and as icons at the bottom with the text "Awaiting Script". Each chapter needs to have content created - either manually or using the built-in AI.
Select a chapter from the drop-down list then click the Create / Write & Update button, or click on the Awaiting Script icon at the bottom for the chapter you want to write. - AI can be used to do all the heavy lifting, or you can manually enter text for your course slideshow in the Write Your Content Here field. If you enter text for slides manually, press Ctrl+Enter to separate your text in to individual slides.
To use the AI, click Create Content and a slide show will be generated for you, which you can then edit. - After creating content using the AI, click Copy below the generated text to copy the text to your computer's clipboard.
- To paste the generated text into a slideshow, click on the content field and press Ctrl-V to paste the copied text, or right-click your mouse and select Paste.
- Click Save Script at any time to save your progress. When you're done editing your script, click Convert To Video to continue.
- The slide editor will open on the Story tab. This is where you can view and edit the slides generated by the AI engine. Click on a slide from the left or at the bottom of the screen to edit its text and media content.
- After selecting a slide, you can use the buttons at the top to edit the content.
In the next steps, we'll take a quick look at the functionality available with each button. - Text: From the text section you can edit the text displayed on the slide, as well as changing the font color, style, and size.
- Background: This area controls the background image or video. Under the tabs you can search for public domain images and videos to use as your slide background to replace the AI generated video.
- Media: Additional media files, images or videos, can be added on top of the existing slide from here. Again, you can search for public domain images and videos or use the Upload tab to add your own media from your device.
- Voiceover: One of several AI voiceover options can be selected to read your text aloud, or you can record your own voiceover or upload an audio file of a pre-recorded voiceover for the slide.
Tip: Put a check next to "Load all layers of text from the slide" to quickly import your existing text for the AI voiceover feature. - Music: Public domain sound tracks can be added for background music. If you have your own music to upload, click on the Upload Music tab to select your sound files for upload.
- Transition: Slide transition styles can be selected from the list on the left-hand side.
- Settings: In the settings area you can add a company logo or watermark, and set volume controls for the voiceover and background music.
- Credits: Intro and outro logos and videos can be added here to be displayed before and after the main training video.
- When you are done editing your training course, click the Render button at the top-right to render / create your presentation video file.
- While the video is being rendered by the server, the thumbnail text will show as Waiting in Local Queue. This means it is waiting for the server to be free for video rendering and processing.
Note: It may take several minutes to render a video, depending on the current system server load. You can continue to work on other chapters or scripts while your video is being rendered in the background. - After the video has been rendered, a thumbnail of the video file will be displayed:
- Mouseover the thumbnail and select the Download link to download the video file to your computer. All videos are in MP4 format.
Alternatively, if you have linked social media accounts, use the Publish button to upload and save the video to your connected account.
